if anyone out there has a lead on a job in the Colo Spgs, CO area for a writer/editor/grants person/admin assistant, I’d love to hear about it. I have some roots in the city and, despite the Christo-fascist zombies, I want to move my family back there. Just thought I’d ask.
Yeah, yeah, I know how tacky this is, but, dammit, I’ve been looking for nine months and I’m so sick of rewriting my resume I could cap my own ass .

Ah, this is true – the few I’ve considered have had this nasty little bit in the job descriptions about their option of moving you to another location at will and that just scares the shit out of me, since we’re looking to buy our first home. Plus, there’s always that pesky background check business, isn’t there.
Still, Gov’ is more stable than the public sector right now, that’s for sure. I’ll check out that link. Thanks for the tip!

I’ve worked for the Feds for 20 years and the moving blurb is just that. The agency I work for has 100k employees and the only time they use it is for senior mgt. Re: the background check-be honest about everything, except your current or former use of drugs, unless you were arrested-then tell the truth, but also say you’re reformed and no longer partake….
