The Lost Weekend…or, um, Three Months

Ah, it’s good to be back.
And where, pray tell, have I been? Well, about three months ago, I had meself a teeny weeny little breakdown. It started slow and built to a thunderous Ragnarök over the past month – lots of scotch, cigarettes, and horror. Oh, the horror. Friendships broken, a marriage in ruins.
I turned 37 and lost my mind.
But, hey, everythin’s OK. Right as rain. The world is sublime.
I mean, there’s a new Bauhaus album comin’ out – and a new Portishead disc, too! Not to mention I hear Michael Cera may play Scott Pilgrim…Come on, People! That’s terrific! That’s the kind of shit you gotta cling to when the rest of life is a smoking ruin.
All theatrics aside, things are fine here at the Inky House. I was an asshole of biblical proportions and threw the lives of everyone I know into chaos while I “found myself,” but the smoke seems to be clearing and I can survey the damage more clearly…
I think I may have fucked the greatest friendship I’ve ever had right into oblivion, which I don’t even think I can face right now, to be honest.
Regardless, here I am, alive and as well as to be expected. Sober, sane, and full of shrews.
