There’s a new book out called Clean Cartoonists’ Dirty Drawings featuring fun and scintillating work by illustrators and cartoonists better known for their more family-friendly work. Looks great (image above by Dean Yeagle).

So, this one post gets 75% of the traffic on my site, which is a fuck load of hits believe it or not.
Which begs the question, “why?”
Why is Willy Rey such a perv magnet these days? Was there a documentary made about her recently? Is it the whole “cult of the dead hot chicks we can never have”? If anyone knows why Ms. Rey seems to be such wank bait these days, please let me know.
* Oh, and before you cynics out there accuse me of just trying to inflate my hit count with this post, you should know I don’t give a damn about hits – if I did, I’d be showin’ ya snatch in every post.

“The more we can reinforce the idea of the DC Universe as a magical and fascinating concept in itself, assuming that those are our aims, then the more successful we’ll be in keeping readers hooked upon that universe and on the books that chronicle its various phenomena. Of course, this approach isn’t without its problems. If you don’t do it right, if your assembled multitude of characters look merely banal, which I personally believe happened with Secret Wars (although that may be mere personal prejudice on my part), then your entire continuity is cheapened in the long term along with its credibility, whatever the short term benefits in terms of sales might be. When this happens, your only recourse is to greater acts of debasement in order to attract reader attention, more deaths to appease the arena crowd element in the fan marketplace, eventually degenerating into a geek show.”
- Alan Moore, from his Twilight of the Superheroes proposal, 1987
